SSC Human Resources Manager - Store Operations

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring an SSC Human Resources Manager for Store Operations. This is an SSC-based, field-adjacent HR business partner who supports field-facing client groups through strategic and operational HR consultation. The role partners with leaders to drive workforce effectiveness, organizational health, talent outcomes and associate engagement, acting as a trusted advisor on talent, performance, succession, staffing, compensation and associate relations.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate breaches of culture and values and associate relations issues, and analyze turnover to develop retention strategies
• Ensure adherence to company policy, procedures and employment law
• Partner with management to recruit for exempt and non-exempt positions, screen candidates, schedule interviews and handle pre-employment screening, offer letters and FCRA notifications
• Plan and take part in job fairs and college career fairs
• Coach managers, run 360 feedback sessions, and help them follow up on associate development plans
• Follow up on associate training, conduct new associate orientation and certified EC2 master trainer training, and possibly management development training
• Help identify backup and emerging talent, analyze diversity and increase the diversity of the candidate pool
• Work with other HR teams, contribute to HR reviews, represent HR in corporate-wide initiatives and drive HR initiatives
• Create new role descriptions and update compensation and performance management for the client group

Required profile

• Human resources generalist or related experience (3-5 years); 5 years strongly preferred
• Management experience (2+ years)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
• Able to work legally in the United States

Required skills

• Knowledge of HR specialties including employment law, employee relations, staffing, training and compensation
• Sound knowledge of federal, state and local employment law
• Coaching, counseling, negotiation and conflict management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
