Sr. Operations Business Analyst – Specialty Reporting & Analytics

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Senior Operations Business Analyst for its Store Operations Specialty Team. The analyst uses technical skills to analyse complex datasets, uncover operational insights, predict future outcomes and recommend actions. Data visualisations summarise findings so they can drive business decisions, and the role works with other analysts to support analytically driven decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project teams of analysts and other associates
• Gather data, synthesise it, develop solutions, plan projects and strategies and use data effectively
• Produce documents for teams and leadership to review and use
• Deliver presentations to teams, executive leaders and sponsors
• Build skills and knowledge, including self-development, team knowledge and customer (internal) knowledge
• Assign and review work, train people and contribute to performance appraisals (no hiring, firing or disciplinary action)

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Typically reports to a Store Operations Process Manager, Business Manager or Sr. Manager; leads a work group with no permanent direct reports
• Typical education: bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
• Typical experience: 3 years
• Typical leadership experience: none

Required skills

• Preferred: SQL, Tableau, Power BI or an equivalent data visualisation tool
• Preferred: consulting management and/or project management
• Strong quantitative skills such as statistics and data analysis
• Problem solving
• Strong operations, retail and/or field knowledge

Travel is typically under 10% overnight, and the work is mostly done sitting indoors in a comfortable setting.
