Sr Medical Technologist - Donor Services - Variable Shifts

Exceptional care starts with exceptional people. Ochsner seeks a Senior Medical Technologist to join the Donor Services team, working variable shifts in a patient‑focused environment. The role combines routine laboratory work with advanced analytical responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical competency within the assigned laboratory section and perform routine and special lab procedures.
• Maintain regulatory compliance, contribute to performance improvement, and assist the laboratory supervisor or director as needed.
• Document and analyze complex data, troubleshoot equipment, and keep system logs up to date.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related scientific field (transcript required).
• Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory experience, including at least one year in the specific lab section under a qualified director.
• Current state license (if applicable) and ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and laboratory information systems for data entry and retrieval.
• Advanced analytical skills for data collection, calculations, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Certification in ASCP, AMT, or AAB as required for the role.
