Sr. Controls Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our Solutions & Delivery Optimization team, shaping automation solutions globally. This role bridges product development and project execution, ensuring new technologies are standardized and integrated into scalable logistics systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and commercialize standardized controls building blocks for global logistics solutions.
• Engineer PLC/HMI-based controls for modular, end‑to‑end automation solutions.
• Evaluate emerging automation technologies and define integration strategies.
• Generate controls layouts, electrical documentation, and software for system deployment.
• Support pilot implementations, provide technical mentorship, and ensure successful customer delivery.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in controls engineering, automation, or related industrial engineering fields.
• Senior‑level experience designing modular, scalable automation solutions.
• Strong systems thinking across mechanical, controls, software, and overall solution behavior.
• Experience with logistics automation technologies such as conveyors, sortation, AS/RS, or pallet handling.
• Willingness to travel up to 35% globally for deployments and validation.

Required skills

• PLC, HMI, and SCADA development using Siemens S7 / TIA Portal.
• Siemens Technology Objects and SINAMICS S120 motion control.
• Industrial communication networks: Profinet, EtherNet/IP.
• Design of machine‑to‑human interfaces and exception handling.
• Electrical documentation and controls layout generation.
