About the role

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders for patients of all ages in an acute inpatient setting. This PRN position works varying hours as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing impairments.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments, establish goals and plans of care.
  • Deliver therapy interventions using standard speech therapy techniques.
  • Complete required documentation.

Required profile

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Current Ohio license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (or application) from ASHA.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

  • Standard speech therapy techniques and skills.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for patient care tasks.
