Spanish OPI & VRI Government Interpreter – Remote (US)

About the role
We are seeking professional Spanish interpreters to support a government‑contracted transit client across the United States. The role involves providing both video remote interpreting (VRI) and over‑the‑phone interpreting (OPI) services in Spanish and English.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver scheduled and on‑demand VRI sessions using a laptop and Google Chrome.
- Provide OPI services for callers during US Eastern business hours.
- Maintain accurate tone, nuance, and consecutive interpretation quality.
- Comply with government standards and pass a background check.
Required profile
- Native or near‑native Spanish speaker with excellent English proficiency.
- Professional interpreter certification (40‑hour training preferred).
- Prior experience with VRI and OPI, preferably in government or public‑sector settings.
- Ability to work Monday‑Friday during US Eastern business hours.
- Clear criminal record to pass a government‑level background check.
- Own laptop, high‑speed internet, professional headset, and Google Chrome.
