Space and Defense Performance Leader – 1st Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a Performance Leader for its Space and Defense division on the first shift. You will oversee a machine‑shop team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, high‑quality production of advanced flight‑control components.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise 15–20 shop employees, handling hiring, training, performance reviews and career development.
• Partner with the Manufacturing Manager to create and execute Value Stream or Production Improvement Plans.
• Define, track, and report short‑ and long‑term goals aligned with corporate strategy.
• Apply standard work and production documentation to maximize equipment utilization, workflow efficiency and cost control.
• Address employee‑relations issues, enforce policies, and ensure accurate time reporting.
• Support safety, quality, and continuous‑improvement initiatives across the shift.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of manufacturing experience, or an Associate’s degree with 4 years.
• Minimum 5 years of direct management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead teams, solve problems and drive results.

Required skills

• Lean manufacturing and process‑improvement tools.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret production metrics.
