About the role
The Solid Organ Transplant Coordinator supports the liver transplant program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences by managing the full spectrum of transplant activities. This role ensures seamless coordination between donors, recipients, surgical teams, and ancillary services to deliver high‑quality patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate donor and recipient evaluations, testing, and documentation.
- Schedule transplant surgeries, organ procurement, and post‑operative follow‑up.
- Maintain accurate transplant records and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Facilitate communication among surgeons, nurses, social workers, and pharmacy to optimize transplant workflow.
Required profile
- Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) or equivalent clinical credential.
- Experience in solid organ transplantation or related clinical setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, interdisciplinary environment.
