About the role
The Lab & Pathology Intern will support daily operations in the clinical laboratory at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Working under the supervision of technical staff, the intern will gain hands‑on experience with specimen handling, equipment maintenance, and quality control procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Replace biohazard boxes and maintain a safe work environment.
- Organize laboratory stock and ensure supplies are readily available.
- Load specimens onto analytical instruments and monitor runs.
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Execute quality control checks and document results.
Required profile
- Must be an approved City of Little Rock intern.
- Enrollment in a relevant academic program (e.g., medical technology, biology, chemistry).
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain confidentiality.
Required skills
- Basic laboratory techniques and specimen handling.
- Understanding of biohazard safety procedures.
- Attention to detail for quality control activities.
