Software Test Engineer – On-Site Lab Testing

About the role

Deloitte is looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to join its Project Delivery Talent Model, a model tailored to long-term, onsite client service delivery. You will run functional and regression testing in a lab to validate vendor-developed web application releases on specific hardware, and certify each release in the Boba environment before production. The role is onsite five days a week in San Jose.

Key responsibilities

• Run documented regression and functional tests in the lab to validate software releases before production.
• Create and maintain regression test plans for core applications.
• Certify that applications run correctly in the Boba environment on the specific hardware.
• Record test results, defects and validation outcomes in test execution sheets, regression reports and bug logs, delivered within three business days of lab set-up.
• Log and track bugs in Buganizer and support release readiness for production deployment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Ability to travel about 10% on average.
• On-site lab testing on unique hardware configurations before production.

Required skills

• Functional testing of interactive web applications built by external vendors, including maintenance and enhancement releases.
• Regression test planning and reporting.
• Use of Buganizer for bug tracking.
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
