Software Engineer, Systems & Infrastructure

About the role

Matroid is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build the systems and infrastructure that power its computer vision platform. The role is based onsite at the new downtown Palo Alto office and involves close collaboration with software, deep learning, and field engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement new system capabilities to support platform features.
• Develop secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure ranging from hardware to software abstractions.
• Improve engineering efficiency through better libraries, tooling, and automation.
• Apply modern best practices such as infrastructure‑as‑code and observability.

Required profile

• Strong enthusiasm for backend systems and infrastructure.
• 4+ years of software development experience, preferably with Python.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Linux systems programming.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, Docker, Helm, Kafka, Redis, Prometheus, MongoDB, Nginx.
