Software Engineer, Security (all levels)

About the role

Render is building a modern cloud platform for developers and needs a security‑focused software engineer to own the full security lifecycle. You will join a small, dedicated security team and help shape the security foundation for a fast‑growing company.

Key responsibilities

• Build internal tooling for secure access, authentication services, and proxies.
• Implement detection and monitoring systems to alert on high‑signal vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security issues from threat modeling, penetration testing, scans and disclosures.
• Collaborate with developers on sensitive code paths and educate on secure design patterns.
• Communicate security risks and solutions to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering or security experience.
• Strong incident leadership and pragmatic decision‑making.
• Empathy for team and customers with a sense of ownership.

Required skills

• Designing and building secure web applications, tools and APIs.
• Vulnerability review and analysis.
• Experience with detection engineering and SIEM implementation (nice‑to‑have).
