Software Engineer, Pixels to Parts

About the role

Reframe Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to develop the Pixels‑to‑Parts platform, which transforms floor plans into manufacturing‑ready designs for micro‑factory construction of homes. You will work closely with architecture, design engineering, and factory operations to deliver deterministic, production‑grade code.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and build core design‑automation components that convert floor plans into geometry, parts lists, and visualizations.
• Create programmatic checks that validate designs against dimensional, code, and manufacturing constraints and explain failures.
• Develop agentic workflows, tool‑using agents, MCP servers, and retrieval mechanisms over design and product data.
• Write deterministic, well‑tested code for geometry generation and manufacturing data output.
• Deploy and operate services in the cloud using containers, infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
• Collaborate with Architecture, DFMA, and Factory Operations teams to understand building and manufacturing processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production software development experience, primarily in Python.
• Experience shipping cloud‑native applications (containers, managed services, IaC, CI/CD).
• Strong interest in agentic systems and related frameworks (e.g., RAG pipelines, LangGraph).
• Comfort with mathematics and algorithms such as geometry, linear algebra, graph theory, or optimization.
• Proven ability to set technical direction, mentor engineers, and improve engineering practices.
• Effective communication, ability to navigate ambiguity, and willingness to work onsite in Billerica, MA at least two days per week.
