Software Engineer – Military Robotics

About the role

Carnegie Robotics is seeking a Software Engineer to develop cutting‑edge robotics solutions for US Military stakeholders. You will work on algorithms and applications that process sensor data from real‑world environments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with military personnel and stakeholders to design and refine use cases.
• Develop adaptable user interfaces for diverse platforms using frameworks such as React or Qt/QML.
• Ingest, analyze and fuse sensor data from depth cameras, RADAR, LiDAR and IMUs.
• Architect robust APIs and integrate solutions into the broader military software ecosystem.
• Conduct comprehensive testing from unit tests to field trials and ensure mission readiness.
• Prepare technical documentation and present designs during reviews and briefings.

Required profile

• Strong passion for high‑performance code and software engineering best practices.
• Experience working in Linux environments and handling system configurations.
• Hands‑on experience with sensor fusion and processing multi‑modal data.
• Background in defense or government contracts is a plus.
