Site Reliability Engineer (Remote/Hybrid)

About the role

Rustici Software is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join its DevSecOps team. You will work on deploying, monitoring, and maintaining large‑scale applications and customer environments hosted on AWS, participating in an on‑call rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Improve internal automation using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible.
• Maintain and extend the infrastructure control plane and add new features.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents as part of a weekly on‑call rotation.
• Collaborate with the Director of DevSecOps and product teams to enhance security, reliability, performance and cost of AWS resources.
• Support customer environments alongside support and integration teams.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Unix command‑line tools (zsh/bash, git, editors, shell utilities).
• Strong background deploying highly available web applications on AWS.
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipeline orchestration.
• Familiarity with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and security tooling.

Required skills

• AWS services (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, CloudFront, Elasticache, SQS, Route53, ELB, Lambda, etc.).
• Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or similar IaC tools.
• GitHub Actions, Jenkins or comparable automation platforms.
• Docker, Kubernetes.
• Programming/scripting languages: Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Go, Java, TypeScript.
• Database knowledge (MySQL) and networking basics (TCP/UDP, subnets, NAT).
