Software Engineer, Infrastructure

About the role

Rainmaker is seeking a Software Engineer to own its production infrastructure and security, ensuring systems run 24/7 in challenging environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end production infrastructure, defining deployment, monitoring, and recovery standards.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure for rapid development.
• Balance security rigor with engineering velocity.
• Collaborate across software, science, aircraft engineering, and field operations.

Required profile

• Experience building and operating production infrastructure.
• Fast, thoughtful, autonomous, and opinionated work style.
• Willingness to relocate to El Segundo, CA.
• Track record of shipping material improvements to critical systems.

Required skills

• Deep familiarity with AWS.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
• Managed secrets and credential lifecycles.
• Design or maintenance of zero‑trust, WireGuard‑based networks (e.g., Tailscale).
