Software Engineer, Infrastructure (all levels)

About the role

Render is building a modern cloud platform for developers of AI‑native, full‑stack applications. The team is scaling rapidly and needs engineers to design and operate the core infrastructure that powers millions of services worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own Render's core infrastructure across multiple data centers and regions.
• Improve architecture to schedule and spin up containers orders of magnitude faster.
• Develop offerings for growing AI workloads and enhance internal traffic routing and load balancing.
• Debug issues at all levels of the infrastructure stack and increase observability, load testing, and chaos engineering.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and collaborate with engineers to keep the platform stable, predictable, and secure.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience building and scaling cloud infrastructure.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and debugging production systems at scale.
• Strong background in container orchestration, low‑level networking, and storage management.

Required skills

• Kubernetes (or similar orchestration)
• Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible
• Linux kernel and container optimization
• Observability tools (Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
• PostgreSQL or similar data stores at scale
• Security hardening for untrusted workloads
