Software Engineer III – Enterprise Inventory Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer III to join the team that builds Walmart’s enterprise inventory platform. You will help deliver scalable, reliable software that powers inventory data across all stores and distribution nodes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement solutions for small to medium projects.
• Develop, test, and maintain high‑quality code that meets security, scalability, and performance standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Create and execute test cases, manage defects, and conduct regression testing.
• Support CI/CD pipelines by automating routine tasks and monitoring application performance.
• Mentor and guide small engineering teams, providing technical direction and documentation.
• Communicate project status and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.

Required profile

• Proven software engineering experience with strong object‑oriented programming and platform design skills.
• Expertise in API design, component services, and iterative development methodologies.
• Ability to analyze requirements, perform root‑cause analysis, and deliver sustainable technical solutions.
• Experience documenting code and implementing telemetry features.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and testing strategies.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
