Software Engineer II – Growth

About the role

Join BILL’s Growth – Activation and Expansion team to drive user growth and improve customer experiences through innovative engineering solutions. You will focus on acquiring and activating customers, enhancing onboarding, and expanding adoption across BILL’s fintech products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable SaaS features that acquire, activate, and retain customers.
• Improve onboarding flows and expand product adoption across multiple BILL services.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑impact solutions.

Required profile

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience building large‑scale systems, primarily using Java.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑paced, remote‑first environments.

Required skills

• Java development.
• Design and implementation of distributed, highly scalable SaaS applications.
• AWS services (ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, Kinesis).
• SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB).
• Build tools such as Gradle and CI/CD pipeline creation.
• Experience leveraging generative AI technologies and integrating LLMs.
