Software Engineer - Applied AI

About the role

Cogent Security is launching the world’s first AI Cyber Taskforce, an applied‑AI lab focused on building autonomous agents for cybersecurity. We are looking for experienced AI/ML engineers to design and deploy production‑grade AI systems that automate vulnerability management and other security workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and launch AI agents that reason over enterprise security data and automate vulnerability management tasks.
• Collaborate with design partners to translate business goals into AI‑driven solutions.
• Identify and curate datasets, design data representations, and build scalable ML pipelines.
• Decompose complex security workflows into sub‑tasks suitable for autonomous agents.
• Experiment with long‑term reasoning, planning, and generative models to evolve the data flywheel from supervised to autonomous operation.
• Develop reusable components for ranking, retrieval, and search powered by large language models.
• Implement frameworks for training, evaluation, stress‑testing, and continuous improvement of ML systems.

Required profile

• Multiple years of experience building and deploying AI‑driven production systems.
• Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and large‑scale AI models.
• Proven ability to design agentic or autonomous systems and integrate them into larger products.
• Experience handling scale and performance constraints in production environments.
• Passion for staying at the forefront of AI research and applying cutting‑edge techniques.
