Software Engineer – Ad-Serving Systems

About the role

Uber is looking for a Software Engineer to join its ad‑tech team and build high‑performance, scalable ad‑serving systems for delivery ads. You will work on backend services that handle millions of ad requests per second and collaborate with product, data science and machine learning teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ad‑serving platforms that support Uber's delivery ads products.
• Build and optimise backend services and distributed systems for high throughput and low latency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create new ad formats and improve existing ones.
• Work with streaming and batch processing technologies such as Kafka, Flink and Spark to process ad performance data.
• Ensure system reliability, security and scalability following best engineering practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building large‑scale backend services and distributed systems.
