Software Developer – Java Web Applications

About the role

The Software Developer will design, build, test and deploy Java‑based web applications supporting maintenance functional and technical requirements. Working within a hybrid environment in New Orleans, you will collaborate with an integrated project team to analyze processes, diagnose issues and optimise workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Java source code for middle‑tier and front‑end components of web‑based applications.
• Write unit tests, document code and provide status updates on tasks.
• Participate in functional and technical discussions with analysts and developers.
• Translate requirement specifications or graphical models into detailed implementation steps.
• Troubleshoot core Java issues including thread dumps, caching, connection pools, memory leaks, deadlocks and persistence configuration.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high‑quality software capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to assess and understand functional and technical requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Eligibility to pass background checks, a National Agency Check and obtain a Secret security clearance.
