About the role

The Software Application Developer IV provides technical leadership for the design, development, and delivery of enterprise‑wide software solutions at Texas A&M University. This senior position mentors staff, manages budgets, and ensures high‑quality applications align with organizational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee deployment of software development projects and services.
• Provide technical guidance for data architecture and evaluate software products and programming languages.
• Author new applications and revise code based on bug reports and testing outcomes.
• Mentor, train, and develop technical staff while managing the team’s annual budget.
• Establish and enforce design, coding, testing, and documentation standards for enterprise applications.
• Perform troubleshooting of custom applications and data handling issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least eight years of software application development experience.
• Proven experience supervising a small team, including mentoring and training.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a passport and appropriate travel visas.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java, C#, Angular, HTML, JavaScript, and LabVIEW.
• Experience with Oracle or other relational databases and multi‑tier/web architectures.
• GUI development expertise.
• Use of version‑control, debugging, profiling, and test‑automation tools.
