Social Work Fellow – Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic

About the role

The Social Work Fellow provides supervised therapy in the Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic, acting as a bridge between patients, physicians, and community resources while supporting tele‑health initiatives such as CPAN and TCHATT.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral health evaluations and deliver evidence‑based psychotherapy under LCSW supervision.
• Provide specialty consultation to healthcare staff and manage complex patient cases.
• Assist in developing triage, intake, and referral processes and support program evaluation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, continuing education, and scholarly presentations.
• Contribute to departmental research activities as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Work (CSWE‑accredited) and LMSW license in Texas.
• One year of behavioral health experience, preferably with children, adolescents, or trauma.
• Bilingual ability (Spanish preferred) and experience with telehealth and interdisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Ability to engage in clinical supervision and receive feedback.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Comfort with learning new technology and delivering services via telehealth.
