Social Service Program Coordinator – Kinship Navigator

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Social Service Program Coordinator 2 to serve as a Kinship Navigator. This hybrid position supports kinship caregivers in Region 11, helping them access resources and navigate child protective and foster care processes.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between kinship families, DHS divisions, and community agencies.
• Identify caregiver and child needs, provide referrals, and offer emotional support.
• Develop individualized support plans to facilitate timely resource delivery.
• Assist families during Child Protective Services and Foster Care interventions.
• Travel within Region 11 to meet caregivers and coordinate services.

Required profile

• Residency in Region 11 to ensure effective travel.
• Experience working with vulnerable families or in social services.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple agencies and community partners.
