Shipping/Packer

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Shipping/Packer for a warehouse environment where materials are received, inspected, stored and prepared for shipment. The work alternates between indoor and outdoor areas and involves a wide variety of supply items received from Department of Defense and contractor activities. The position may require travel.

Key responsibilities

• Receive materials and perform receiving inspections according to documented procedures
• Check stock for damage or expiration using shelf-life management procedures
• Conduct assigned portions of inventories using bar code wands, labelers, laser scanners and/or computer terminals; a CAC may be required for system access
• Process transactions in the inventory management system, which may include ULLS-G or other government-standard systems
• Prepare materials for shipment, pack, label and load them into vehicles
• Store materials according to the master storage matrix and follow care-of-supplies procedures
• Inspect and repair supplies, including ESAPI plates, and follow all safety rules and procedures
• Perform housekeeping, maintenance, and other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Six to twelve months of job-related experience or training
• Physically capable of lifting 45 pounds, standing on stepladders and reaching overhead
• Valid driver's license, maintained to operate Amentum or government motorized equipment
• Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance
• English speaking, reading and understanding
• Available for any shift, including weekends, and willing to pass a pre-employment physical and urinary analysis

• Counting, weighing, recording data and applying tags and labels
• Planning, organizing and working under deadlines

What we offer

• Hourly pay of $25.94 (set by the collective bargaining agreement)
• $7.50 per hour, up to 80 hours per pay period, for medical, dental, AD&D, vision, life, long-term disability, employee assistance and short-term disability
