Shipping and Receiving Clerk - 2nd Shift, Warehousing

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a warehousing position on the 2nd shift, working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS). The main purpose is to handle the receipt and shipping of material so that items meet customer requirements. The role reports to a designated lead, supervisor or manager and may involve using anti-static devices.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, classify, accept, reject and dispose of material according to regulations, including reading specifications and photographs where required.
• Load material on and off skids, pallets and stands, and prepare labels and basic reports.
• Receive and enter data into automated systems, count, weigh and record data, and apply tags and labels.
• Use tools and equipment, and may operate material handling equipment as assigned, holding the appropriate license.
• Make preventive maintenance adjustments to related equipment.

Required profile

• At least 3 months of general work experience; no specific experience required.
• High school diploma or GED, or one year of general experience in place of a year of schooling.
• Able to obtain a license to use material handling equipment within 30 days of selection and complete inert gas certification training.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, stoop, bend and kneel, with full dexterity and correctable vision; protective gear is required.
• Position may require travel, security clearance, and availability for evening and Saturday shifts; in some locations, short-notice availability across shifts and areas.
