Shipping and Receiving Clerk - 2nd Shift, Warehousing

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a warehousing position on the 2nd shift, working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS). The main purpose is to handle the receipt and shipping of material so that items meet customer requirements, reporting to a designated lead, supervisor or manager.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, classify, accept, reject and dispose of material according to regulations, using visual checks, measuring devices and basic inspection procedures.
• Read specifications and photographs where required, and use blueprints and schematics under mentoring.
• Load and unload material from skids, pallets and stands, and prepare labels and basic reports.
• Receive and enter data into automated systems, count, weigh, record data and apply tags and labels.
• May operate material handling equipment as assigned and hold the appropriate license, and make preventive maintenance adjustments to related equipment.
• Follow safety, quality and procedure compliance requirements, including training, emergency response and safety committee participation.

Required profile

• At least 3 months of general work experience; no specific experience required.
• High school diploma or GED, or one year of general experience in place of a year of schooling.
• Must obtain a license to use material handling equipment within 30 days of selection and complete inert gas certification training.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel and work in noisy, busy environments with fumes or airborne particles; protective gear is required.
• Outside work in hot, cold or wet weather is often required; the role may need short-notice availability across shifts and locations, and frequent evening and Saturday shifts.
• Travel may be required, and the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance may be needed depending on location.
