Shipping and Receiving Clerk - 2nd Shift, Warehousing

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a warehouse, working the 2nd shift. The main purpose is to handle the receipt and/or shipping of material so that items meet customer requirements, using anti-static devices where needed. The role reports to a designated lead, supervisor or manager.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, classify, accept, reject and dispose of material according to regulations, including reading specifications and photographs as required by the DLA contract
• Load material on and off skids, pallets and stands, and prepare labels
• Count, weigh, record data, apply tags and labels, and make preventive maintenance adjustments to equipment
• Input data into automated systems and receive data from them during receiving and shipping
• May operate material handling equipment as assigned and hold the appropriate license
• Follow safety, quality and procedure compliance requirements, including training and emergency response duties

Required profile

• At least 3 months of general work experience; no specific experience required
• High school diploma or GED, or one year of general experience in place of a year of schooling
• Able to obtain a license to use material handling equipment within 30 days of selection and complete inert gas certification training
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, stoop, bend and kneel; protective gear is required
• Position may require travel, security clearance, and availability for evening and Saturday shifts
