Shared Laboratory Resource Specialist I – Pre‑Clinical Tumor Core

About the role

The Shared Laboratory Resource Specialist I supports research operations in the Pre‑Clinical Tumor Core at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus. Working with small research animals, you will administer drug treatments, perform tumor measurements, and help maintain breeding colonies while following established SOPs.

Key responsibilities

• Read and follow experimental protocols, logging samples and service requests.
• Perform animal handling, drug administration, tumor measurements, and minor equipment repairs.
• Maintain laboratory inventories, order materials, and operate equipment for assays and measurements.
• Calculate, compile, and communicate data to core leadership or internal customers.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a relevant scientific field or two years of relevant experience.
• Critical thinking, ability to work with minimal supervision, and capacity to handle a stressful environment.
• Willingness to obtain required certification within one year of hire.

Required skills

• Animal handling in a research setting.
• Laboratory equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Data recording and reporting according to SOPs.
