Shared Laboratory Resource Assistant I – Cage Wash

About the role

The Shared Laboratory Resource Assistant I supports laboratory operations by cleaning and processing animal cages within the Biological Resource Unit at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus. This full‑time day shift position works from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning procedures for animal cages and maintain adequate stock of supplies.
• Receive, answer, and process departmental communications via iLab ordering system, email, phone, or voicemail.
• Notify senior personnel or supervisors of equipment malfunctions or urgent issues.
• Assist with collecting, receiving, processing, transporting, or storing supplies from various labs.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Comfortable being around research animals and able to work in environments with unpleasant odors, sights, and potential animal bites or scratches.
• Physical ability to transport equipment or animals weighing up to 75 pounds.

Required skills

• Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed scientific or medical instructions from investigators or veterinarians.
