Service Writer – Bicycle Retail

About the role

Join a family of bike stores dedicated to building better cyclists and using bicycles as a force for good. As the Service Writer you will be the primary liaison between customers and mechanics, ensuring a smooth, organized, and customer‑focused service experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage service scheduling, write work orders, and communicate equipment condition to customers.
• Oversee workflow, staffing, and KPIs for the service department, supporting mechanics and streamlining administrative duties.
• Provide unbiased advice, upsell service options, and assist the sales team with product recommendations.
• Maintain accurate service intake, set customer expectations, and handle inquiries and complaints professionally.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for bicycles and strong customer‑service orientation.
• Positive, team‑oriented attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Two or more years of bike mechanic experience and ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Experience using Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive).
