Service Technician – The Granary

About the role

The Service Technician ensures that the building, grounds, amenities and common areas of The Granary meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. You will respond to resident service requests, perform preventative maintenance, and prepare vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs in residential settings.
• Experience with make‑ready inspections and coordinating vendor work.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and inventory tracking.
