Service Technician - Firestone Junction

About the role

Greystar, a global real estate platform focused on institutional-quality rental housing, is hiring a Service Technician for a property in Firestone Junction. The role covers technical and mechanical work that keeps the buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas clean, safe and functional.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance by diagnosing problems and repairing them according to policy, safety standards and code requirements.
• Run the make-ready process for vacant apartments: pre-move-out inspection, punch list, vendor and contractor scheduling, supplies and materials, and final inspection of completed work.
• Track inventory, return unused items and notify the maintenance supervisor of re-order needs.
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time so requests can be tracked.
• Help maintain grounds, common areas and amenities: pick up trash, pressure-wash breezeways and pool areas, clean and paint curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost control by fixing rather than replacing parts and using materials and tools efficiently.
• Attend safety meetings, complete OSHA and other safety training, and report accidents and incidents promptly.
• Periodically check contractor and vendor work against quality standards and help with property inspections to flag safety and repair concerns.

Required profile

• EPA certification Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling (Certified Service Technicians).
• All certifications required by state and local jurisdictions.
• Valid driver's license to operate a golf cart on property where applicable.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, climb ladders, reach, carry and crawl in confined spaces, and work indoors and outdoors in all weather.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds alone and 50 pounds with assistance; occasional travel to other properties or training may be required.
• Flexible schedule including call duty on evenings, weekends and holidays.
