Service Desk Engineer

About the role

SymQuest, part of Konica Minolta, is seeking a Service Desk Engineer to deliver remote and onsite technical support for Microsoft‑based business environments across several New England locations. The role blends phone‑based troubleshooting, remote‑control assistance, and on‑site visits to ensure client systems run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support via phone and remote‑control tools.
• Perform onsite support at client locations as needed.
• Diagnose and resolve workstation, server, and network infrastructure issues.
• Manage user accounts in Active Directory (add, edit, disable, provision new users).
• Troubleshoot backup, malware, virus, and other technical challenges.
• Provision new laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
• Collaborate with application vendors to resolve software errors.
• Document work, attend meetings, and pursue continuous professional development.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in a help‑desk or network administration role.
• College degree preferred.
• Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team.
• Self‑motivated, professional, and eager to learn new technologies.

• Windows 10 & 11 operating systems.
• Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2025.
• Active Directory administration.
• VMware and Microsoft Hyper‑V virtualization.
• Antivirus, anti‑spam, and anti‑spyware solutions.
• Backup and recovery technologies.
• Citrix and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
• Firewalls, routers, managed switches, LAN/WAN/Wireless networking.
• Systems management tools (HP Insight Manager, Dell OpenManage).
