Service Coordinator

About the role

Meijer is hiring a Service Coordinator in Greenfield. The role ensures a high-quality customer shopping experience by leading and supporting front-end operations: coordinating checkout flow, maintaining front-end cleanliness and standards, and assigning work for cashiers, service desk and courtesy team members so productivity and service expectations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with peer leadership for smooth handoffs between shifts, and perform the survival walk and shift-to-shift handoff when the team leader or area leader is absent.
• Coordinate and drive actions on monitoring and controlling shrink and financial business outcomes, escalating concerns proactively to leadership.
• Champion community programs and lead by example through team member resource group (TMRG) engagement.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care, and provide hands-on training and mentoring.
• Act as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members in partnership with the team leader and follow up to ensure completion.

Required profile

• Successful completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum, including the Cashier, Service Desk and Courtesy Team curricula.
• Good communication skills, friendly and customer-oriented, organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize.
• Organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• The position may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping and kneeling; the amount and frequency depend on the shift, day, month or season.

Required skills

• Ability to operate the cash register system and all financial services equipment.
