Front End Coordinator

About the role

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, part of Meijer, is hiring a Front End Coordinator in Greenfield. The coordinator handles customer sales transactions at the front registers, keeps cash under control, ensures customer satisfaction and safeguards company assets. The role calls for a friendly, energetic attitude and adherence to all procedural guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure outstanding service in the checkout lanes, greet customers and respond promptly to their needs
• Oversee the accurate and efficient operation of cash registers and process payments by cash, check, credit card, gift card or automatic debit
• Scan items, enter PLU or UPC manually, and display totals, tax and rebates on the register screen
• Maintain clean checkout areas and complete all POS transactions with proper cash control
• Review customer surveys and feedback, and provide product advice to customers
• Prepare, package and stock merchandise, handle price changes and order manual items
• Keep products properly priced, remove out-of-code items and comply with food safety, ad set and signage rules
• Use the production planner and fresh dashboard, and meet sales floor condition expectations

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of related retail experience and one year of management experience
• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus
• Ability to communicate clearly, resolve conflicts, manage multiple tasks and consult customers
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information and to mentor team members
• Completion of all required certifications, including ServSafe
• Reliable, consistent attendance
