Server Assistant – The Café

About the role

The Server Assistant supports the smooth operation of The Café by Chef Emeril at Fairmont New Orleans, delivering exceptional guest service and upholding the brand’s high standards. Working closely with servers, culinary, and F&B leadership, you will help create a polished and memorable dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide warm, professional, engaging, and attentive service to guests.
• Assist servers with timely delivery of food, beverages, and guest requests.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, beverages, amenities, and service standards.
• Set, reset, and clear tables according to Fairmont standards, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of service stations.
• Support pre‑busser duties, replace flatware, refill water, and keep table presentation pristine.
• Anticipate guest and server needs throughout the service period.
• Run food from the kitchen to the dining room, delivering dishes to the correct tables.
• Communicate effectively with servers, culinary, stewarding, hosts, and leadership to ensure smooth service flow.
• Handle, transport, and organize china, glassware, silverware, trays, and other service equipment.
