Hotel Chief Engineer – Marriott Autograph Collection, Atlanta

About the role

The Hotel Chief Engineer is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic standards of a luxury portfolio of 12 hotels and residences in Midtown Atlanta. This full‑time position ensures that all building systems operate efficiently to provide a comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Respond promptly to guest service calls in rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Maintain the property’s appearance through touch‑up painting, carpentry, lighting, and general upkeep.
• Implement and support preventative maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate logs of work orders, inspections, and completed tasks.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, state, and Marriott standards.
• Assist with emergency procedures such as fire alarms, power outages, and plumbing leaks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or trade school training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel or facility maintenance.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and on‑call shifts.
• Strong communication skills and a guest‑focused attitude.
