Senior Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

About the role

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. is seeking a Senior Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join its Staff Legal team in Philadelphia on a hybrid schedule. The attorney will represent Zurich’s commercial insureds in high‑complexity, high‑exposure New Jersey Workers’ Compensation cases.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the company in all phases of New Jersey Workers’ Compensation litigation, including pre‑trial discovery and final hearings before the workers’ compensation judge.
• Collaborate directly with claims professionals to provide legal analysis, prepare pleadings, conduct legal research, and manage post‑trial activities.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor with at least 7 years of experience in Workers’ Compensation litigation.
• Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey Bar Association.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims handling, and insurance defense litigation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe.
• Experience using legal research platforms such as Lexis or Westlaw.
