Senior Total Rewards Analyst – Payroll & Tax

About the role

Workit Health is seeking a remote Senior Total Rewards Analyst to lead payroll, tax, and leave administration for a fast‑growing, fully remote workforce of 150‑200 employees and contractors. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, People Services, you will ensure compliance, drive multi‑state pay strategy, and support total rewards programs.

Key responsibilities

• Own and optimize full‑cycle payroll, tax filings, and leave administration across all U.S. jurisdictions.
• Create and execute compliant pay and leave processes in partnership with managers.
• Provide responsive employee support via Slack, email, verbal, and Jira.
• Lead multi‑state pay and tax compliance strategy and resolve complex issues.
• Manage special pay, tax, and registration projects for new state expansions.
• Administer equity grants in Carta and act as senior point of contact for benefits inquiries.
• Process departmental mail digitally and handle additional people‑services duties as assigned.

Required profile

• 4+ years in People Operations, HR, or payroll with primary responsibility for payroll processing.
• 2+ years managing payroll for a similarly sized, remote organization.
• Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll, tax, and leave laws (FMLA, ADA, PFL).
• Experience supporting total rewards and benefits programs.
