Senior Thermal Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to lead thermal engineering across our missile systems. You will define thermal architectures, develop high‑fidelity models, and ensure reliable vehicle performance in extreme thermal environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyze thermal systems for unmanned air vehicles at all design stages.
• Develop and execute ground and flight thermal tests, and analyse post‑flight data.
• Create transient thermal analyses for mission profiles using standard codes and hand methods.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, structures, electrical, propulsion, and systems teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Present thermal status at formal reviews and prepare specifications, test procedures, and technical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Physics.
• 5+ years of aerospace thermal engineering experience on rocket, spacecraft, aircraft, or missile programs.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
• Strong programming in MATLAB and Python for tool development.
• Experience with thermal analysis codes and hand methods.
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
• Ground testing experience with thermal instrumentation and data acquisition.
