Senior Technician, Exterior Lighting and Signage

About the role

Pilot Company, a network of travel centers with more than 750 retail and fueling locations across 43 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces, is hiring a Senior Technician for Exterior Lighting and Signage in Columbia, South Carolina. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing exterior signs and lighting work orders, from 120 to 480 volts, while following safety protocols and maintaining good customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair exterior signs and lighting work orders, including ballasts, lamps, sockets, switches and fixtures
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols on electrical and mechanical systems
• Complete service appointments, enter accurate notes and communicate with facility maintenance
• Respond to service requests, troubleshoot and repair according to warranty and industry standards, and report repair status to the ESL supervisor and store management
• Provide excellent customer service onsite and collaborate to meet project deadlines
• Complete same-day repair notes, monitor truck stock for parts, maintain service vehicles, tools, parts inventory and uniforms, and perform routine testing and calibration of equipment
• Maintain a safe worksite, clean workspaces and vehicles, and support emergency situations such as power outages
• Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations and company safety rules

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least five years of commercial electrical experience (seven years preferred)
• Electrical journeyman license preferred
• At least three years of aerial lift and electrical work at heights of 60 to 80 feet (five years preferred)
• OSHA 30 certification
• Travel less than 75%
