Senior Tax Preparer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Preparer to join our growing CPA firm in Greenwood Village, Colorado. You will prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns while providing proactive client support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state individual (1040) and business tax returns (1120, 1120‑S, 1065) with all related schedules.
• Consult with clients to understand their financial situation, represent them before tax authorities, and provide clear guidance.
• Make adjusting journal entries, interpret financial statements, and assist with bookkeeping clean‑up as needed.
• Collaborate with CPAs, tax advisors, and bookkeeping staff, and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of tax preparation experience in a CPA or EA firm.
• EA or CPA credential preferred or actively pursued.
• Strong knowledge of individual and business taxation, depreciation, NOLs, and state filings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software (CCH preferred).
• Experience using QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
