Senior Tax Accountant – Wealth Advisory

About the role

Our client, a multigenerational RIA firm in Connecticut, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to lead tax preparation and strategy within its wealth‑advisory practice. The role blends technical tax expertise with client‑focused wealth management coordination in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, fiduciary, exempt, corporate, and partnership tax returns in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Calculate and file estimated federal and state tax payments for both individuals and businesses.
• Develop and implement tax and financial strategies that align with clients’ wealth‑management goals.
• Communicate with clients and internal staff to ensure timely delivery of tax‑compliant financial statements and profit‑maximization advice.
• Interpret, investigate, and respond to IRS and state tax agency correspondence.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of tax law changes and industry trends.

Required profile

• CPA or EA certification highly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns.
• Experience in tax planning and coordination with wealth‑management services.
• Client‑facing experience with strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Prior experience in the RIA industry is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Supervisory experience is a plus, with interest in future leadership roles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax software such as Lacerte, TaxDome, and SurePrep.
• Experience using QuickBooks for accounting tasks.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
