Senior Systems Engineer (Federal) – DC or Virginia

About the role

This role is the technical lead for Qumulo’s federal accounts, partnering with sales and customers from discovery through proof‑of‑concept to design storage architectures that meet mission requirements across civilian, defense, and intelligence environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical relationship on federal opportunities, from discovery and demos through POCs and architecture sign‑off.
• Partner with account teams to qualify deals and develop technical strategies that move opportunities forward.
• Work with federal partners and systems integrators to design, validate, and position solutions for end customers.
• Design architectures addressing performance, scale, resiliency, and security for federal environments.
• Build and maintain the federal technical toolkit: reference architectures, demo content, solution briefs, and competitive positioning.

Required profile

• 8+ years in a customer‑facing technical role (Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or SE Leader) supporting federal customers.
• Proven track record leading complex pre‑sales engagements in federal environments.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to influence cross‑functional teams as a senior individual contributor.
