Senior Systems (Database) Administrator

About the role

CACI is seeking a cleared Senior Systems (Database) Administrator to support a virtualized environment running various database technologies at Langley AFB. The position is an immediate need supporting the Distributed Ground System (DGS) modernization, system operations and promotion. The environment uses Microsoft's Active Directory for most enterprise services, and the candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting databases on Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL and willing to learn other technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain databases on Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or newer and help migrate from older versions.
• Build and run automatic jobs for server and job maintenance, data archiving and backups.
• Maintain a virtualized data center with VMware on Dell/EMC servers and storage.
• Tune server performance, configure software and allocate storage space.
• Keep information systems secure and available through patch management, antivirus updates and data archival/restoration.
• Respond to service outages, technical queries and other system issues, and track trouble tickets in Serena Business Manager.
• Analyze and develop systems, update and document configuration management, and guide Tier 1 and 2 personnel.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI security clearance (minimum).
• At least 6 years of combined experience as a Windows System Administrator and Database Administrator.
• Security+ and CE certification.
• Experience with the listed technologies.
• Desired: Bachelor's degree.
