Linux Systems Administrator (Red Hat, Puppet, TS/SCI)

About the role

CACI is looking for a cleared, experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux administrator with strong Puppet configuration management expertise to join its IT team. The role integrates, maintains and optimizes the Linux-based infrastructure, using Puppet automation to streamline provisioning, configuration and management. It is based onsite at Langley AFB, with up to 10% travel across the continental US, and requires an active/current TS/SCI clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers and related software.
• Monitor systems, tune performance and troubleshoot to keep them reliable.
• Maintain Puppet manifests and modules, applying Puppet best practices and version controlling code changes.
• Provision and configure Linux servers with other teams, and develop infrastructure-as-code scripts and templates.
• Apply patches per the Patch Management Plan using Satellite and YUM.
• Handle outages and technical queries, write system documentation and train colleagues.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI security clearance; willingness to work onsite at Langley AFB.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant IT experience.
• Experience supporting real-time 24/7/365 shift work is highly desired (shift differential offered).

Required skills

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration.
• Puppet configuration management, including writing and maintaining manifests and modules.
• Linux virtualization and containerization (VMware, Docker).
• Scripting (Ansible, Bash, Python) and version control (Git).
• Security and CE certification or equivalent.

Desired: two years of DCGS experience, RHCE, Puppet Certified Professional or Linux Essentials certification, and experience with YUM, RedHat Satellite, Kickstart, Harbor or Kubernetes. Pay range: $75,200-$158,100.
