Senior Systems Administration

About the role

AT&T is hiring a Senior Systems Administrator for its Network Cloud Operations organization in Alpharetta, Georgia. This is a full-time onsite role, five days per week, with no relocation offered and no employer sponsorship. The position covers 24x7 operations, administration and maintenance of server infrastructure in a Linux-based cloud environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform feasibility assessments, create requirements, manage projects and integrate and test technical solutions for software.
• Deploy software updates on the cloud platform (Linux OS, BIOS/firmware, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Calico, Ceph, MariaDB).
• Create, review, approve and implement changes in the NC server environment.
• Restore applications and services after outages or service degradation from hardware, OpenStack and OS perspectives.
• Coordinate with OS vendors, development teams, production support teams and hardware vendors (Dell, HP) for root cause analysis, configuration changes and hardware replacement.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of related experience, including 24x7x365 operations with night and weekend shifts.
• 3-5 years of production environment experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering or Communications preferred.
• High level of coordination, communication and customer focus; work across diverse teams and regions.

Required skills

• Linux system administration (5 years), Kubernetes (1-3 years), Jenkins pipeline (1-3 years), GitHub repository management (1-3 years).
• Dell and HP x86 hardware break/fix (5 years).
• OpenStack modules such as Keystone, Nova, Neutron, Swift, Cinder, Heat, Glance, Horizon and Fuel.
• Preferred: CI/CD code upgrades, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, API, Ceph, Ansible, TCP/IP networking, Calico, SSL/TLS certificates.
• Certification in Linux, OpenStack and Kubernetes administration is preferable.
