Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

Woolpert is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with more than 10 years of experience to lead the design and delivery of complex building projects, focusing on data centers, industrial facilities, and advanced manufacturing plants. This hybrid position is based in Chicago and offers the chance to work with cutting‑edge technology and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structural design for data‑center, industrial and advanced manufacturing projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation systems.
• Coordinate with architectural, civil, MEP, process, and vendor teams to resolve design and coordination issues.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
• Support QA/QC reviews and assist during construction with submittals, RFIs, and field queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience on data‑center, industrial or manufacturing projects.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318 and AISC standards.
